In 1973 and 74, two young photographers spent over six months traveling through one of the most distinctive corners of the Unites States, the southern Louisiana region known as Acadiana. There, they hitched rides on oyster boats, celebrated Mardi Gras on horseback, visited a nutria tannery, and met countless other makers, proprietors, musicians, and good-time-havers along the way. Cajun Document captures the culture, economy, and people of a singular place on the brink of transition.
